I'm a __________ mom/wife/sister/friend...

I'm a single mom, raising one teenage boy. He is my life, he is my world, he is my best friend.

I am an ex-wife who decided that bailing her husband out of jail what not what I was working hard every day for.

I am a little sister, with 2 older brothers, who still refer to me as "what's her face" some days.

I am a close friend to my pal Coco. Her and I can be no more opposite than we are, but our friendship is strong and she rocks!  We keep each other afloat, and we have each others backs. I love her with all my heart.

I am woman... hear me roar!!

I crave a sloppy hamburger, so I either go to Culvers and get a double with cheese and fries, or to Burger King for the whopper with cheese and fries. Or the jalapeno poppers from Arby's... the large order.

SO bad... but SO good!!!!

Thursday, March 22, 2012  - Wearing pajamas in public...

I guess it has to depend what type of pajamas... I am a mom, I guess you won't need to worry about me running out in my Fredrick's of Hollywood teddy set.

But then again, you might see me run out to the garage in my oversize t-shirt.

The closest I have gone to running out in public in my pajamas is wearing my lounge pants and t-shirt, with flip flops to the grocery store.

Remember, I'm a mom, you run on adrenaline, not style!

Friday January 20, 2012 -Something mischievous I did as a child.

Our home had a window-like opening between the kitchen sink and the livingroom. We always left the bamboo slide curtains open, so we could see through.

I think the most mischievous thing I did was when the candle on the counter was lit. I would use a piece of raw spaghetti (uncooked), put a mini marshmallow on it, and then roast it over the candle flame.

Desperation will make a 10-year old do anything!!!

The first time I saw...

I decided to take my son down to Great America. It was awesome. We went down when Tony Hawk was there. My son was a big skater follower, so that was ultimate for him. He got to meet Tony and shake his hand. That was the highlight of his day!!!

Mini Van Mom

I participated in the Listicles yesterday and it is AMAZING how many of you commented on my "I will never drive a MiniVan".

Okay, so, it's not that I am too cool for minivans... trust me - that is NOT it. I am NOT graceful, cool, hip, or any of those words the kids DON'T use to describe their moms.

I grew up with a dad who drove a station wagon... the biggest one you could buy. Looked like a cross between a Sherman Tank and a Mack Truck! The man was only 5'4" or so. He could barely see over the steering wheel and reach the pedals, let alone see over the end of the hood!

I swore I would never be one of those parents. When I was pregnant, my brother would tease me because I drove a Mazda MX-3 hatchback. He would laugh and say "yep, that's a family car!" Okay, so I did progress to 4-four cars... but only for a while. I am back to my little sporty car.

I have seen my son drive on video games and I know how we rides an electric scooter... he is SOOOO not getting his drivers license until he's at least 30, at this rate...

I am far from being too cool for a minivan, but I don't want to have any excuse to be the one to haul everything and everyone around when they need a big vehicle. You can only put so much and so many into a Scion!!!!!!!

Sunday January 15, 2012 - Why I don't like a certain cartoon character.

Okay, I might be one of the only ones in this world who DOES NOT LIKE SpongeBob. There is something about him that is entirely annoying and not something that small children should watch. I guess you can look at him, from an adult perspective, and see things that you know are wrong, but children only see him as a regular cartoon on tv.

I guess the different character personalities are what drive me nuts, along with so many other things. I just find that, as an adult, I find him totally inappropriate for children to watch.

Maybe I am the only one, but I am not a fan of him.

Wednesday December 28, 2011 - How I want to spend New Years Eve

Well, I know how I would like to spend my New Year's Eve... and I know how I will end up spending it.

I would love to go out somewhere fancy, with someone terrific, hanging out and enjoying the time. And then finding a special way to ring in the new year. I will, on the other hand, be home, with my son, watching movies and eating shrimp in cocktail sauce. I will fight to keep my eyes open until midnight, when we will channel-surf and watch the ball drop (on many channels) and then go to bed.

Whoooo Hoooooo! Happy New Year... **yawn**

So far, the most popular gift is...

Right now, I think it's a tie... between the electric griddle I bought my son, so he can cook his regular breakfast spreads (he LOVES to cook) and the new digital camera I bought him (he knows more about his camera in 2 days than I have learned in almost 2 years).

I think it turned out to be a good Christmas, after all.

"Why I wait until the last minute to buy gifts..."

I always do. I never know what to buy anyone... and I am usually so busy that it's not high on what needs to be done. I do better as a "power shopper" than a regular shopper. Needless to say I worked retail in the mall for 4 years... I cringe at the thought of going to the mall, especially at the Christmas season. I do get my shopping done... just not the same as everyone else...
