Monday Listicles 2.13.12

“Hey, baby, nice listicles you’ve got there!”

Brandi said that to Laverne in a comment last week. See even more then the listicles itself I love reading the comments you leave for each other. I love that you visit everyone else’s blogs and that you are so very funny. I love Monday Listicles.

As you can tell, I am overusing the word love. Must be because this week we are talking about LOVE. To compliment the theme Jackie chose last week, PASSION. Thank you again Jackie, it was such joy to read about passions we share.

Guess the natural progression would be marriage and babies, but it is not up to me. It is Wendy’s turn to choose. She is expecting a lovely baby, so who knows…

Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to find Wendy among the bellow linked blogs and see what she says next listicles will be about. In case you are not sure who Wendy is, she is twisted, domesticated and very funny. A devoted mom, wife, homeschooler and NorthWesterner. She is also currently on vacation!

But before you start writing next weeks edition, there is a small matter of love:

Make a list, check it twice, link it up. Read others. Have fun!

First 10 reasons I fell in love with my (now ex) husband
(okay, so this is in the past, as we were married for 5 years, but I do remember what I noticed about him... but also what changed. We have been divorced many years, but hey, I'll play along this week...

1. His smile
2. His eyes
3. The way he made me feel
4. He cooked dinner
5. He did laundry
6. He loved me for who I was
7. He told me I looked sexy
8. He did work... occasionally
9. He was caring
10. He made me smile.

Okay, so after THAT learning experience... let me tell you 10 things I look for in guys nowadays, that make a difference...

1. Their smile - it says a lot
2. Their eyes - they can tell you so much
3. The way they treat me
4. Their sensitive side
5. If they are self-supported
6. If they have a steady (REAL) job
7. They do not have a criminal record or warrants for their arrest.
8. They do not have kids they don't support
9. They are caring and are not afraid to be honest
10. They accept myself and my son as a package deal.

So... there you have it...

Cats...

The holidays are not my favorite. My mind doesn't stop spinning. I get caught in a hurricane of emotions, of questions, of "what ifs".

I don't know why it happens, but I'm sure it has something to do with the "down" time over this time. No work, no school, time to think, wonder, and (literally) drive myself crazy with thoughts.

This pic is my Kitty.  I call her my "old lady". She's 10, about 6-lbs, and can make a 75-lb retreiver kneal.

She is laying here with me, snoozing. But occasionally snuggles up and gives me kisses.

Animals are great. They give unconditional love. They listen,. They snuggle. They care. They are true, real, genuine.

If someone wants to be a part of your life…

There are two special people in my life, but at this time, they will remain nameless.
Both are terrific and sweet.

One I met by chance, as he was getting ready to head off to fight overseas. We started to write back and forth and we grew very close. We had so much in common. I think about him often, but I know that he is so set in his ways, with having been single all these years, and working in the military, that it’s hard for him to change his ways. I won’t make him, but I miss him every day. I wonder if he thinks about me?

The second has been a part of my life for many years. We started out meeting during our line of business. Over time, we grew close and found that we had a connection, on many levels. There are things in his life that are happening, that don’t let us be who we are, but he knows I care.

I don’t want to let either of them go, but I want to be happy… I don’t want to keep wondering “what if?” or “when?”

you

I want to hold your hand and feel the warmth of your skin against mine. I love the smell of your skin. I miss the feeling of you holding me close and your arms around me.
